Demand for Commercial Property
Demand for commercial property in Winchester looks set to rise, according to information included in a survey carried out by property company GVA Grimley.
There has been a surge in businesses looking to rent properties in London in recent months and it now seems that this pattern is set to expand to the rest of the South East.
The demand is largely driven by businesses looking to expand their office space capabilities, while the figures for those seeking shop-style premises seems more likely to remain static at best.
Winchester's economy is largely service-based at present, with many workers commuting into the city from surrounding areas of Hampshire. Large employers in the city centre include Hampshire County Council, which is currently in the process of renovating its headquarters complex.
Indications of an increase in the demand for commercial property is likely to be welcomed by Winchester estate agents and land-owners, though it will put some pressure on resources.
